What causes a high platelet count and anemia? - anemia causes more condition_symptoms
My son had a high blood platelet count and anemia for years. We tested twice a year, but no one can diagnose a cause or reason to continue testing. They simply say it is not necessary to drain. Has anyone heard?

Thrombocythemia
In thrombocythemia, produces too many platelets. Heavy bleeding or bleeding result in May.
Increase in the bone marrow, cells that develop into platelets, too (proliferation). Why cell proliferation is unknown. But the result is too many platelets. If there are too many platelets, blood clots can form spontaneously. Blood clots can block blood vessels, especially the small ones. Sometimes, thrombocythaemia not do platelets function normally. Then you can produce excessive bleeding.
Causes
Can be found in the rule, no cause. Other conditions that lead to thrombocytosis May are anemia, is suffering from arthritis to cancer spread (metastasis), leukemia, lymphoma, polycythemia, and rheumatoid arthritis.
This is the next diagnostic I can do. However, this is usually done in 50 years, no children. Hope this helps.
